Issue: The base was upgraded to a later firmware version without upgrading the handset which caused looping when getting paired.

Compatibility: The resolution is applicable for the W73H, W78H, W57R, W59R, W59R Pro, W71H, and W74H handsets only.

Resolution: Perform a no perception upgrade to update the firmware of the handset. The no perception upgrade is an upgrade mode where the process of firmware transmission and firmware upgrading is separate. The steps to perform a no perception upgrade through the web user interface are as follows:

  1. Download the firmware of the affected DECT phone from Yealink's website.
  2. Login to the web user interface of the base.
  3. Navigate to Settings > Upgrade.
  4. Set the 'Upgrade Mode' to 'No perception Upgrade'.
  5. Click 'Select File' to upload the firmware.
  6. Click 'Upload' to proceed.
  7. Navigate to Handset & Account > Handset Registration to identify the transmission status under the 'HS Version' column. Once completed, the handset firmware can be updated.
  8. If the handset is connected to the charging cradle, the firmware update is automatically triggered after transmission. If not, there would be a prompt that a new firmware is detected where the 'OK' button needs to be pressed to manually update the firmware. Note that the firmware update will not proceed if the battery level of the handset is 40% or lower.

Alternatively, a no perception upgrade can also be performed via auto-provision. For more details, refer to Yealink's official documentation.
