The camera’s password is an integral part of the camera’s security suite. To ensure that the camera and network remain secure, the resetting of the camera’s password is strictly controlled. To do this, we use an encrypted IP-Locked MPL file to reset the camera’s password.
Mobotix charge a fee per camera for the MPL File(s) and the delivered MPL file is valid for 30 Days after creation.
The cameras need to be running firmware version v4.7.2.18 or higher (P3* platform) or v5.2.1.4 or higher (P6*platform).
Also, the time must be correct on the camera, and HTTPS (Port 443) must also be active on the camera.
You can use the automatic search on MxMC or MxCC to find the FW version running on the camera.

If the camera does not meet the requirements above, then it must be sent into the HQ for a physical password reset. The fee will still apply, plus shipping there and back. MOBOTIX standard Terms & Conditions of Sale apply.
