You may have an XG Appliance that every now and again becomes unresponsive and requires a reboot.
If you look at the graphs in Diagnostics menu you will see dropouts and the CPU hitting 100% during that time.

To help try to resolve this try the following 2 commands from the Sophos console
system auto-reboot-on-stall enable
system firewall-acceleration disable
